BÜMED (Boğaziçi University Alumni Association), together with the Student Team, organized the Sectors Together Special Together Special Edication Social Impact event, bringing together people who have impacted our society with their work in the field of social impact and who are role models.

The event was attended by Boğaziçi University alumni, students and their guests.

In the event organized at BÜMED Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Hall, BÜMED Chairman Önder Şahin said in his opening speech, "We support students in social enterprise projects and pave the way for students".

"There is no subject that a citizen is not responsible for. A handful of people realize change. I believe that everyone can create change." Hande Sart, Boğaziçi University Faculty Member and GETEM Coordinator, shared her knowledge and idioms with the participants in the panel on social impact from the perspective of University & Municipality.

Volkan Altınok underlined that we cannot ignore the social impacts of all kinds of work and said "We need to draw a participatory, transparent, data-based framework" and left the stage to social entrepreneurs who transform systems.

Ashoka Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Director İstem Akalp said that we are working to create an ecosystem in the field of social entrepreneurship, for a world that will not need us one day, and touched upon the skills that make a difference; empathy, teamwork, creative problem solving and new leadership.

Afterwards, Impact Hub Communication and Community Officer Cansu Öner talked about community analysis.

Mustafa Özer, Director of İMECE, said "Social innovation is not a linear thing, it is a spiral, just like life itself" and then pointed out that "what should we do in this problematic world in terms of sustainable growth and social justice?" and pointed out that this is the important question.

Pınar Sabancı, Founder of İyilik Hareketim (My Goodness Movement) and Derin Altan, Member of Y yanındadayız Association, emphasized that people do not have an example in front of them and that they work in the sense of orientation for young people.

Tülin Akın, Founder of TABİT Smart Agricultural Technologies, said: "Before a person starts doing something, others draw the limits of that person, but no one can draw my limits. With this motivation, I opened a page that had not been opened before and started to inform farmers" and shared her success story as TABİT and Tülin Akın with the participants. Emre Danacı, Founder of Fonzip, Başak Süer, Founder of Givin, Esra Odabaşı, Founder of ES Career Disabled Employment, made their speeches at the Panel on Fundraising Process for Non-Governmental Organizations and then Successful Social Entrepreneurship Example: SosyalBen Panel, Ece Çiftçi, Founder of SosyalBen Foundation, made her speech and finally, Hakan Sabancı, SocialBen Supporter, made the closing speech.
