As TABİT family, we are also in the Clean Fashion Movement!
We stand against the frenzy of consumption for our world and our future.
We ask if we really need it. Do you think we really need it?
Are we aware that we are consuming the world's dwindling resources much faster as we frantically add to the basket?
And are we aware of what we lose while producing?
Doesn't what we lose make your conscience ache?
- In Turkey, all of the workers sandblasting denim have contracted the deadly silicosis disease. 126 workers died from silicosis.
- In 2012, 254 workers died in a fire at the Ali Enterprise factory in Pakistan and 117 workers at the Tazreen factory in Bangladesh.
- In 2013, 1138 workers lost their lives in the collapsed Rana Plaza disaster.
We are losing...
- Of the 3 million workers in the textile sector in Turkey, only 1.25 million are registered.
- According to the UNICEF 2020 report, 100 million children are affected by the textile industry as working children or child laborers.
- Only 2% of the 60 million workers in the textile industry in the world receive a livable wage.
- The fashion industry uses an average of 93 billion m3 of water per year.
- Only 13% of the textiles produced are reclaimed and 1% recycled.
-Alton in northern Chile receives clothes. But at least 39,000 tons that cannot be sold end up in desert landfills.
- Lack of inspections and the pressure for cheap production cause new disasters every year.
So that it doesn't happen in our tomorrows;
Slowing down is necessary to make less and better quality products, to make existing garments cleaner, to extend the life of materials, to improve the future of fashion and its impact on our planet and society. The environmental cost of our overproduction and overconsumption in the fashion industry leaves toxic traces in nature.
Black Friday magnifies this exploitation. Join our fight against the waste crisis in the fashion industry. As TABİT family, we also support the Clean Fashion Movement initiated by Bego Jeans.
If we do not stop this madness, we will continue to lose.
We will not tolerate any more losses!
