TABİT has made an important collaboration with stakeholders from 5 different countries in the "Mediterranean Greenhouses Improvement" (AZMUD) project, which is within the scope of European Union Projects HORIZON2020. The project started with the aim of reducing the cost and efficiency of heating systems, adapting and optimizing ultra-low energy drip irrigation by local joule heating of plant roots based on electrically conductive plastics integrated into standard hydroponic systems. In addition, it aims to reduce the need for water and energy by increasing the use of wastewater in the conditions of the soilless greenhouse.

TABİT has contributed to the adaptation process of the Smart Agriculture system to low-tech Mediterranean greenhouses by using its technological expertise and experience by realizing the world's first smart village with its Smart Village project.

Under the leadership of TABİT's R&D Manager Orhan Kurt, thanks to his expertise in agricultural engineering and technology, technologies that farmers can use were developed and existing greenhouses were integrated with new technologies. Thanks to these studies, it is aimed to reduce the costs of greenhouse growers.

The project was successfully completed and an important step was taken towards the future of the rural area by disseminating the developments and innovative methods. TABİT has made an important contribution to improving Mediterranean greenhouses and increasing the economic power of farmers. Together with all the stakeholders who contributed to the project, a successful cooperation was demonstrated in order to create positive effects for the farmers.
