Project Objective
 

In traditional melon production in the region, an average of 3-5 tons per acre can be harvested. The main objective of the project is to increase productivity and maximize profitability.

The Work We Have Realized
 

The following practices were realized in traditional melon production in the region:

• Yield increase was applied for high temperature risks.
• The water requirement of the roots was controlled by using loT technologies and 45 days early production was realized and sales started at the peak of the market.
• Melon seedlings were prevented from being affected by temporary frost periods by mulching the roots.
• Plant nutrition was optimized using loT technologies.

As a result of these practices, the following productivity and income increases were achieved:

• 150% yield increase in 2.5 months.
• Income increased by 85%.
